The good work being done

Crime in general has been steadily falling in Arun over the last few years. Unfortunately, many people are unaware of this, and some even think it is going up. There are many reasons for this, such as significant isolated incidents being reported in the newspapers or personal experience of crime in local neighbourhoods.

One of the main priorities of the Safer Arun Partnership is to make people more aware of the good work being done by partner agencies to reassure the public and increase their confidence that we are successfully dealing with the issues important to them.

To achieve this it is important to inform residents of the work being done and ask them about the issues important to them in their areas. The Safer Arun Partnership therefore regularly engages with people from around the district to identify their main concerns and work with them to find solutions. By working with local community groups, the Partnership also aims to increase the public's satisfaction that the issues which matter most to them are being dealt with by the relevant people.

The small team is responsible for organising community events and roadshows, publicising the work of the other groups and the Partnership, the creation of this website and much, much more.
